Thinking Outside the Bubble: You get what you need

The Tower

This piece was the start of my bi-weekly column, Thinking Outside the Bubble, and I knew I wanted to pick a piece representing my best writing to attract readers to my column. I wrote this a few weeks after my grandpa passed away, leaving my writing to be vulnerable. To me, some of the best stories are when you reveal insights about someone you would not know at the surface. While writing this piece, I wanted to take the morals of those around me and compare them to the opposite to display the duality of humanity. The different lives that humans live, while all being on the same planet. I wanted the piece to be thought provoking. I was proud of myself that I was able to publish this without feeling embarrassed about my vulnerability.
